snowleopard governance token

Hello friends,

I wanted to share a quick update regarding the direction of snowleopard.

After the initial stealth-launch pump, things have calmed down, which is good. snowleopard is not meant to be a pump and dump token, but a token around which a strong community forms with long-term holders.

I quickly add my thoughts on the concept of “community” in crypto — Often we see when a dev wants to abandon a coin, they say “this is now a community coin, the community must be the ones to build value.” That is not going to be the case for snowleopard.

This dev believes that communities function most efficiently with a leader who outlines a direction and a plan for the future. Of course, the clever dev listens to the community and incorporates their ideas as well — but implementation is mostly left to the dev, and perhaps a team of trusted community members who wish to help.

So this is a long-term project that this dev is sticking around for. I emphasize that progress may not be speedy; like the snow leopard we are stealthy and patient.

Staking

So the first step I propose in building upon snowleopard is to create a staking contract to stake snowleopard-avax LP and farm a snowleopard governance token. We may also offer single-sided staking for the new token as well.

Why do we need a new token in addition to snowleopard?

The 10% tax of the current snowleopard token is too much for everyday token activities. Furthermore, renouncing ownership of 🐆, which was required to let people trust the project, limits the functionality of the token. 🐆 was designed to promote holding and therefore get people invested in the project, and the bigger tax helps that happen.

The new token will likely not be reflective, but will have a small tax on each transaction. This tax will go to a community investment wallet (we will work on making a multi-sig wallet for this). The wallet will likely start off small, but we will grow it through investments in the Avalanche ecosystem. As it grows, we will provide dividends to holders, use for marketing, perhaps set up a snowleopard AVAX validator node. The community will decide, and the new token will also allow holders to access an exclusive community group to propose ideas and vote on uses and changes.

So to summarize, 🐆 and the new governance token will live side by side. 🐆 will continue its mission to devour all animal tokens on Avalanche, helped by the utility of being able to farm the new token. The governance token will allow holders to have a voice in the direction of snowleopard and use of the community investment wallet. The dev will provide more specific details closer to release, and again I emphasize this is not happening imminently — it will take some time. And of course please do not invest more than you are willing to lose.

• Apply to CoinGecko
• Begin work on staking contract
• Continue to devour other animal tokens!
